TRIBOLOGICAL INVESTIGATION OF THE AUTOMOTIVE GRADE ALUMINIUM ALLOY WITH EPOXY PRIMER COATING

چکیده

Mechanical surface preparation is a common technique for removing contaminants from metal layers. Unlike chemical preparation, it does not require special safety measures, including those disposal of by-products or toxic materials, thus making more accessible different industries. We investigated tribological testing as the experimental method to determine quality coating and influence initial mechanical treatment. Samples were made aluminium alloy EN AW 5083 H111 that was shot blasted with white cast resulting roughness Rz=38.908 μm. further coated Lankwitzer EvoCor 164 2-component epoxy primer. Tribological test realised on nanotribometer described output parameters have been analysed: friction coefficient penetration depth. Ball-on-flat, dry contact setup used, 100 mN normal load, under linear reciprocating motion. Dynamic depth curves during one analysed indicating moment when exhibited first failure. The has shown tests low loads can be used thin coatings, adhesion.

Determination of Effects of Primer Surfacer Properties on the Automotive Coating Appearances by DOE

In general, the evaluation of automotive coatings appearances favors (is considered preferentially) more than chemical and physical properties. Therefore, its improvement is most required. Studying appearance by means of QMS-BP technique, in which it measures some of the most important coating appearance factors, such as: the specular gloss, distinctness of image (DOI) and orange peel. In this ...

The Adsorption of an Epoxy Acrylate Resin on Aluminium Alloy Conversion Coatings

A thermodynamic study of the adsorption of an epoxy acrylate resin used for UV-cured coatings on two different anti corrosion pretreatments on aluminium alloys relevant to aerospace industry has been undertaken. Aluminium alloy Al2219 specimens, treated with an inorganic chromate based conversion coating (Alodine 1200S) and an organic titanium based conversion coating (Nabutan STI/310), were im...

Tribological Properties of Aluminium Alloy Composites Reinforced with Multi-Layer Graphene—The Influence of Spark Plasma Texturing Process

Self-lubricating composites are designed to obtain materials that reduce energy consumption, improve heat dissipation between moving bodies, and eliminate the need for external lubricants. The use of a solid lubricant in bulk composite material always involves a significant reduction in its mechanical properties, which is usually not an optimal solution. The growing interest in multilayer graph...

Localized Corrosion on 2219 Aluminium Alloy Coated with a Titanium Based Conversion Coating

High strength aluminium alloys are widely employed in aerospace applications. However specific environmental conditions may trigger corrosion and therefore these alloys require additional protection. Most current conversion coatings used for this purpose are Cr(VI) based, and thus environmentally undesirable. A possible replacement is a Ti based coating, Nabutan STI/310. The aim of this work is...
